Water Fluoridation Training: Maine has 66 Public Water Systems that currently fluoridate and according to the Maine Drinking Water Program, Maine's water operators have an outstanding safety record and excellent quality control. In this morning class we will focus on Maine's fluoridating systems, their successes, some of the challenges they have faced, and the new fluoridation rules effective in early 2012. We will also take a broader look at the history of fluoridation in the U.S. and in other countries. This educational and entertaining session will offer a photographic tour of the technical aspects of fluoridation and review fluoridation standards in Maine. Topics Covered include: History and health benefits, Rules and regulations, Additives and NSF 60,61, Safety, Monitoring and levels, Data management and Standards.
