After many months of work by a broad cross section of oral health advocates and experts, the Oral Health Improvement Plan is out. The report looks at oral health from four perspectives:

Each section identifies goals, strategies and the key partners necessary to move forward in each area. The Maine Dental Access Coalition, which published the report, will play a role in overseeing the Plan's implementation.

The first of twelve meetings of the Oral Health Task Force was held last month. Chair Anne Head, Department of Professional and Financial Regulation, and Judith Feinstein, Director of the Maine CDC Office of Oral Health, provided committee members with copious background materials, including advance copies of the new Oral Health Improvement Plan.
