The grantees are: Aroostook County Community Action Program, Healthy Communities of the Capital Area, Katahdin Valley Health Center, Old Orchard Beach Dental Health Program, Sebasticook Valley Hospital , Saving Smiles and Swans Island Schools.
The funds will allow each grantee to bring focused attention to the importance of oral health as a public health issue within their communities.

Our day at the Legislature followed the Valentines Day storm and closure of State government, and the roads were still wind swept and slippery. Nevertheless SKCDC, minus the children that had hoped to participate, received an award for their good work on oral health. We also had six intrepid souls who came and sought out their legislators to talk about oral health.

Every legislator received a Watch Your Mouth lunchbox filled with with WYM goodies ( golf balls, not candy) thanks to the endorsement of Senator Elizabeth Mitchell and Representative Elizabeth Miller.
